Meet Chris
Cycle CPD is built on the belief that high‑quality cycle‑maintenance training should be accessible, practical and rooted in real industry experience. Led by Chris Dower, a career educator and Master Technician with over a decade in the trade, we specialise in delivering structured, hands‑on training for mechanics, organisations and communities across Wales.
Chris has been training professional mechanics since 2021 and brings a rare blend of technical expertise and educational skill to every course. As a qualified lecturer, formerly leading bicycle‑maintenance provision at Gower College, he combines deep workshop knowledge with a clear, methodical teaching style that supports learners of all abilities. His background spans retail, workshop management, community projects and formal education, giving Cycle CPD a uniquely rounded understanding of the cycling sector.
Today, Cycle CPD delivers accredited Cytech qualifications, bespoke industry training and community‑focused programmes designed to build confidence, capability and long‑term skills. Whether we’re supporting new mechanics, upskilling experienced staff or empowering young people in areas of deprivation, our goal is simple: to help more people gain the knowledge they need to keep bikes safe, reliable and on the road.

Mobile sessions
Cycle CPD also offers mobile training sessions, bringing our hands‑on cycle maintenance courses directly to schools, clubs, workplaces, and community groups. These sessions are fully portable, allowing us to deliver the same high‑quality, practical training on‑site, whether it’s a classroom, a community hall, or your own workshop space. It’s a flexible way to help more people learn essential bike skills, build confidence, and keep their rides safe and road‑ready.
